Psychic MediumWhat is a Medium Reading and Should I Get One?

We have all lost someone we are close to.  A friend, a family member, a loved one.  Oftentimes, even if we see the eventuality of their death approaching (through a bad diagnosis from a doctor, for example), no matter how prepared we tell ourselves we are, no matter how at peace the loved one is before they leave this lifetime, no matter how much we tell ourselves that we will see them again someday, we are never truly prepared, are we?

Then, there are those in our lives that leave SUDDENLY.  It’s always those situations, “I just talked to him yesterday and everything was fine!” or “Maybe If I was there, I could have done something!”

Let’s face it.  Any passing is hard and unexpected—even the expected ones.   I do want to assuage a little feeling here if you’re one of those people holding on to guilt:  you should not.  But, I’m ahead of myself.

But what is it?

A medium reading (also called a mediumship reading) is a reading with a psychic who possesses the fantastic ability to communicate with those that have crossed over to the afterlife.

The medium may see, hear, or feel Spirit (or maybe all three in combination) that has passed to the other side.  That’s the good news.  The bad news (as it were) is that the medium does not have the ability to control what spirit is going to come through in the reading.   So, there is a chance that you go to your reading hoping to hear from grandma and everyone BUT grandma comes through.  Spirit may even come through for other people in your life for you to deliver a message to them.

The medium sort of acts like a radio.  There are all of these channels out there, but they can only tune into what comes in clearly and what’s in range and what’s available. Grandma may not be willing to come through to you just yet.  Spirit does not lose their personality, so if they were stubborn in life, expect the same in their Spirit form.

You Should Not Get a Reading If…

I cannot reiterate this enough:  if you are still dealing in heavy grief and mourning, the last thing you need to be doing is getting a reading of any sort.  There are those in the psychic community, like every vocation, that give us all a bad name.

There are those who will seek to exploit the grief of another for financial gain.  It’s always ethically sound to wait a few months after a passing of a loved one until you seek out a psychic.  This gives you time to deal with the grief, the absence, and get closure.  If you find yourself stuck dealing with the grief and can’t move past it, seek professional help before ever turning to a psychic medium.

Be wary of those individuals who tell you nonsense like, “the spirit is caught between worlds” and they need $2,000 from you to help free their Spirit.  There are those spirits that will stay around to help assist in what they feel is unfinished business, but quite honestly, Spirit can handle itself.  Spirit will take care of Spirit.

A Word on Carrying Guilt

“I should have seen the signs!”

“If I had been there, I could have done something!”

“It’s may fault!  He died trying to save me!”

“It should have been me!”

“Why did I survive and she didn’t?!”

Anything like this always points back to guilt and survivor’s remorse.  In all the medium readings I’ve ever done, one things remains constant:  every single time without fail, Spirit has always said, “There was nothing they could have done.  It was my time to go.”

For that loved one for which you’re holding guilt and shame, let it go, friend!  A lyric of one of my favorite songs says it the best:

“No one is to blame, no.
My death was meant to be.
Don’t carry guilt or shame!
The reason I came soon
You will see.”

Keep an Open Mind

I know, you want to know where grandma hid the money in the house or the combination to the safe.  You want to know about the insurance policy.  You want to know what nickname she called you.

Realize this:  all the stuff in this life that is important to you loses its importance all at once when we pass.  In fact, part of our healing when we return to the other side is to lessen and sever our connection to our earthly existence.  So the thrill of money or an insurance policy amounts to nothing to Spirit.

To communicate with us, Spirit has to lower their vibration and we have to raise ours.  This takes a lot of energy from both parties.  So, grandma may not necessarily say, “Oh, that’s my little [insert nickname here].”  Instead, she’s going to give me information as rapidly as possible and as much as I can digest.

For a clairvoyant medium like myself, this comes in the form of images, words, and what I call movie features (essentially, scenes of a person’s life).  It’s my job to interpret all this information and present it to you in a way that makes sense.

There are things that Spirit is going to say that will make you say, “They’d never say or do that.”  I counter that with this:  how much of your inner thoughts or private actions do others know about?   EXACTLY!  Never say what another wouldn’t say or do just because that was your experience of them.  You only know of an individual what they allow you to see.  How much does your employer know of you versus your spouse?  See what I mean?

You Should Get a Reading If…

Have you had time to process the absence and loss of the loved one you’re seeking to connect with?   Have you effectively grieved and mourned for them?  Do you have the closure necessary for you to move forward as you know they’d have you to do?

If your answer to all of these questions is, without hesitation or second guessing yourself, “yes,” then you are fine to get a mediumship reading.

I look forward to reading for you.
