By now, you very well may know that music speaks to me on a level that is deep and real. In fact, it is one way that Spirit communicates with me during a reading. If a particular song pops in my head, I know that song is for the individual for which I’m reading. So it’s no surprise that one is going off in my head right now when it comes to intuition:
“When there’s no one else
Look inside yourself
And like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within.
Then you’ll find the strength
That will guide your way
And you’ll learn to begin to
Trust the voice within.”
“The Voice Within” by Christina Aguilera

Many people tend to confuse psychic ability for intuition. They are closely related but vastly different. All psychics are intuitive but not all intuitives are psychic.
Psychic ability is the ability to tune into your intuition in such a way that you’re able to perceive information from a vision, for example, that may pertain to a past, present, or future event or circumstance. Intuition, on the other hand, is that “gut feeling” that you often hear people discuss. It’s a knowing in your gut that you just can’t shake.
Have you ever met a person and the first few minutes, you knew there was something about them that you didn’t like that you couldn’t put your finger on then later you find out of their shady or less than stellar ways? Have you ever had a feeling that you shouldn’t go somewhere or do something that you would normally do only to find out later that something negative happened that occurred when you would have been there? These are examples of your intuition.
Many have trouble trusting their intuition because its clouded or they’re in the middle of a situation. For example, I can’t count the number of readings where someone will come to me suspecting that their mate is being unfaithful. I ask what they feel in their gut and they don’t trust it because the love, admiration, and dedication they have toward their mate and the relationship is outweighing the feeling they have in the pit of their stomach.
Your voice within: an exercise
So, you want to become more intuitive? Let’s do an exercise together.
Think of a question you want an answer to. Abandon all preconceived notions of how you want the question answered. If the answer is positive, it’s positive. If it’s negative, it’s negative.
Close your eyes and breathe in deeply through your nose and an exhale through your mouth ten times. Draw your attention to your stomach.
Now, mentally ask your question. There will be an IMMEDIATE feeling and answer that will sit in your stomach that’s inexplicable. You will know if it’s a “yes” answer or a “no.” You will not have any time to pause or debate the question with yourself.
That feeling is your intuition. This feeling can be trusted 100% of the time as it’s never wrong and its core responsibility is to guide and protect you.
Know that the information you receive from your information can sometimes feel weird, illogical, and even confusing, especially if tuning into your intuition is new to you.
For that very reason, I recommend the book Trust Your Vibes by Sonia Choquette. I wrote a review of this book and I actually think of it as the holy book of developing your intuition. You may need to read it a couple of times before you get proficient at tuning into your intuition. The great thing is if you download the free Kindle app to your tablet, smartphone, or computer, you can buy the Kindle e-book and begin reading the book today!
Begin practicing tuning into your intuition and you will learn to begin to trust the voice within.
