The short answer to this question is yes and no. There are definite differences between psychic and spiritual readings, definitely. Let’s take a look at how they’re both similar and different.
Psychic Readings
Psychic readings typically consist of a person with the gift of clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance, clairsentience, or clairgustiance doing the reading. One (or more) of the aforementioned areas assist the reader in pulling information from the ether (as it were) to bring you information for revelation and healing. Many times, the reader has the ability to peer into past, present, and future events and deliver information based on the energy present at the time of the reading.
Some psychics ask will ask for a personal item that they can hold on to so they can more easily tune into the energy and get a more accurate read. I personally use handwriting for this very reason.
It’s important to know that energy does change so when a psychic is doing your reading, they are looking forward for you at that particular moment in time at that snapshot, like a picture. Beware of those psychics who tell you that you have negative energy blocks or family curses or any of that nonsense. You can almost guarantee that they’ll “selflessly” volunteer to clear those things for just a few hundred or thousands of dollars more.
Spiritual Readings
Spiritual readings are quite similar to psychic readings and may even contain elements of psychic readings, but the two are not mutually exclusive.
Spiritual readings look at the pathology or pattern of behavior that is troubling and weighing down a person’s spirit. Instead of looking at, “Will John and I get back together?” spiritual readings tend to look at the why behind the desire to get back together. The reading may explore the issues that drove you two apart, help uncover if you’re energetically and vibrationally aligned or misaligned, the lessons the separation was seeking to teach, and help get you in tune with your higher self.
In a spiritual reading, you are the ultimate focus. No one else. Instead of looking outward, spiritual readings challenge you to look at your own reflection, growth, spiritual, and emotional needs. There’s often a great amount of energetic healing that needs to occur and in a spiritual reading, you will often receive that guidance toward that healing and potentially a little homework to help you stay on the path toward healing.
Your reader may use tarot cards, other divination tools or cards, and one of the clair- gifts to help flesh out your reading, but the focus will be completely focused on you and your development. The ultimate goal of a spiritual reading is to ensure you’re on the right track at this point in your life and if not, to provide guidance about how to get there.
Whichever type of reading you decide to undergo, know that in order to have the best experience possible, you should to come to the table open-minded and ready to receive. There will be some messages delivered to you that are not immediately apparent. There will be some you absolutely hate and have immense resistance to. Do not discard any messages because they don’t make sense at the time or because you feel resistance. Oftentimes, they come to pass or make more sense later.
