Before we ever decide to come to this lifetime, we choose our Spirit Guides. These are the entities that have been there with us since birth and will be there to greet us when we return to the afterlife.
They are here to guide us through this lifetime and try to, in a variety of different ways, communicate with us and let us know of their presence. Oftentimes, when children speak of their imaginary friends and can describe them in great detail, they are speaking of their Spirit Guides. Because they are fresh from the other side, their connection with them is far greater than ours.
Personally, I know of five of my spirit guides, but I did not meet them all at once. In fact, my first two guides Sarah and Daniel, I met at the same time. My other guides, Ming Shao, Orion, and Heyst Iteru all came to me at different times.
You will notice that the voices of you guides are light and quick. No matter what type of mood we are in, their voices are always calm and reassuring. They’re never excitable because we are. They are completely benevolent and good and never sinister, negative, malicious, malevolent, or evil.
The types of guides
1. The Primary/Main guide (for me, this is my guide Sarai)
Often referred to as the Gatekeeper guide, this is your main guide and will be the guide that is the most vocal. This is the guide you will learn to depend on the most. Often positioned somewhere on your right side, this guide is responsible for ensuring that only Spirit with the best and most pure intentions come to you.
2. The Protector Guide (for me, this is my guide Daniel)
Often positioned on your left side, this guide is responsible for protecting you in this lifetime. They’re large and seemingly stoic. They don’t seem to communicate a lot but are always on the lookout, much like a London Bobby or a bodyguard. They tend to lend their strength and courage to you in the times when you need it most.
3. The Teacher Guide (for me, this is my guide Heyst Iteru)
This guide is your guide to philosophy and learning. All those profound thoughts and ideas you get can be attributed to their guidance and nudging. These guides also help us to learn life lessons and help guide us toward the company of likeminded individuals, especially when we are on a spiritual journey.
4. The Healer Guide (for me, this is my guide Ming Shao)
This guide’s responsibility is to assist you in all areas of health—spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental. Oftentimes, doctors, nurses, and those in the healing arts have a great connection with these guides whether they know it or not.
5. The Messenger Guide (for me, this is my guide Orion)
This guide’s responsibility correlates with the Third Eye chakra. They are there to assist in all things psychic and psychic development (link). Along with your main guide, they often assist you in spiritual quests and, if you decide to develop your psychic gift, in readings and energy sensitivity.
This is not an exhaustive list of the Spirit Guides that are around you. These are some of the most common, but by no means is this every type of guide you will encounter.
